The starting point

Punkt News was meant to become a German-language news channel that shows the most important moments from politics, world affairs, business, tech, science and nature every day: short, factual, with a clear number or fact in the headline. Without a newsroom that edits and posts around the clock.

What the system does

  • Topics: it watches politics, world affairs, business, tech, science and nature around the clock, official sources first.
  • Checking: every story is checked against at least two sources, and there is one post per event, a second one only for real news.
  • Design: reels and image posts in Punkt News' fixed design, with a fact or number in the headline. That design belongs to Punkt News; every client gets their own.
  • Planning: a fixed rhythm from morning to evening, the strongest topics at prime time, every post announced in advance.
  • Posting: Instagram, Threads, Facebook and X through the official APIs.
  • Learning: every day from the views and from feedback, which turns into fixed rules.

What performs best

Median views per post by topic area (strongest area: Business and finance with 4,461 views per post):

Business and finance4,461
German politics4,038
World and geopolitics3,842
Accidents and emergencies3,470
Nature and weather1,968
Other1,525

What we learned

  • Start slowly: Facebook treated a brand-new page with 30 posts a day as spam. Since then new accounts start with a few posts a day and ramp up.
  • The headline decides: headlines with a fact or number in three short lines perform far better than vague teasers.
  • Good sources pay off: carefully maintained official sources deliver more usable topics than any quick search.
  • Weight instead of guessing: the selection weights topic areas by the real views of recent days. Strong areas come more often, weak ones need better topics.
